Controllers for Spectrometers

This is a flexible and extendable set of controller boards for spectrometers. Modular circuit design offers complete solution for high-speed precision spectrometry using either photomultipliers or CCD image sensors.
These CCD image sensors are currently supported:
- Sony ILX 554 B
- Toshiba TCD1304AP or TCD1304DG
- Hamamatsu S11155-2048
System Architecture
A spectrometer system consists of
- central unit with Ethernet port and trigger system
- converter units for CCD image sensors or photmultipliers
- channel units for CCD image sensors
Up to 4 converter units connect to a central unit. Each converter unit controls 4 CCD channel units or 16 photomultipliers. Thus one central unit can control 16 CCD arrays or 64 photomultipliers. An even larger system requires another central unit.
Channel Unit for CCD Image Sensor
- for CCD image sensor Hamamatsu S11165-2048
- generation of all clocks and supplies
- upt to 10MHz pixel frequency
- up to 4kHz line frequency
Converter Unit for CCD Image Sensor
- for Sony ILX 554 B
- for Toshiba TCD1304AP or TCD1304DG
- programmable exposure window for each channel
- connects to 4 CCD image sensors
- for Hamamatsu S11155-2048
- programmable exposure window for each channel
- connects to 4 CCD image sensors
Channel Unit for Photomultiplier
- two programmable exposure windows for each channel
- connects to 16 photomultipliers
Central Unit
- 2 programmable trigger inputs
- 8 programmable trigger outputs
- input for incremental encoder, also a trigger source
- 2x 8bit parallel port for PLC
- connects to 4 converter units
- common voltage supply for all connected units
- Ethernet port for data transmission and configuration
